Nowadays, it seems everyone out there holds a real estate license. I can only imagine how hard it must be for the general public to pick a real estate agent out of all of the licensed
real estate agents that are out there right now. So, how do you choose? Do you just give up and use your newly licensed cousin-in-law who works full-time as a Forklift operator, and doesn’t even own a house of his own? Err… maybe not such a good idea. The answer is, it depends. Everyone has to start somewhere, but just make sure that they have full support from their broker and company, and do some research on what they plan to do for you. It’s your hard earned money paying their commission. Make sure you spend it wisely.
You don’t want to just LIST your home for sale. You want it SOLD. But wait, don’t all agents want to sell your home? We’d all like to think so… but make sure to choose someone who doesn’t have their pride as their priority. Be careful about anyone who loves taking hundreds of listings, only to brag about how many they have. The question you’ll want to be asking is, how long have those listings been on the market? Look them up online! What is the agent doing with those listings in terms of marketing?
Bottom line is… the agents you want to avoid, are the ones who plan to simply list your home in MLS. Period. They are done. They have hundreds of listings, and if they get a phone call on 1 or 2 of them, and it sells. Bingo. Paycheck. But, it’s hard to figure out who those agents are. So the fact that you are reading this text right now, is proof that you’re a step ahead of the rest. It means you are doing research and trying to find the “good” real estate agents amongst the crowd. And for that, we applaud you!

She obtained her Broker’s license in 2007 and opened her own real estate brokerage becoming President of Silva Realty Group Inc in 2014.

We help Buyers score great deals!
Many investors are currently working with SRG right now, but buyers purchasing REO (Real Estate Owned) don’t necessarily have to be savvy real estate investors! Even First-time buyers can score a great deal! We’ve also helped guide many first-time home-buyers in purchasing foreclosed or short sale properties. REO may look scary at first, but it’s not significantly different from any other property, and that shouldn’t stop a first time home buyer or any other buyer from being able to purchase a great home for a great price. Are they all Tear Downs? No! Although we’ve seen our share of distressed properties, Not all REO’s are total rehabs or in bad shape, so it’s a shame for a perfectly good home to not be picked up by a buyer just because they are afraid of the word “Foreclosure”. We can help walk you through it! It can be a lot of work for an agent. Lots of paperwork, lots of phone calls & double checking… but we’re used to it all and our team is not afraid of a little hard work.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
We hear it all the time. Buyers or sellers wanting to ask a question, but think that it might be a foolish question. Please don’t be afraid to ask questions. That’s what your buyer’s agent or listing agent is there for. If they feel bothered by the fact that you’re asking “too many” questions, then they might not be the right agent for you. A good real estate agent will want to make sure that you understand the home buying or selling process fully. They want to know that you feel comfortable throughout the transaction and confident that you are making the right decision. And, the right decision is the one that is right for YOU, not for the agent’s pockets. I can’t even count how many times I have shown a buyer dozens and dozens of homes, only for them to finally choose one that I know in my heart is WRONG for them, and explain to them why it’s possibly the wrong decision which essentially postpones my paycheck again indefinitely. Yes, we all need to put food on the table, but our main is to help you make good decisions. That’s what we are here for! No question is a silly question… we’ve all been newbies at one time or another… so please don’t be afraid to ask.
