Greek Revival:
Circa 1820 – 1860. The style is inspired by the architecture of ancient Greece.
Common features in Greek Revivals:
- Columns, pilasters (usually round, but sometimes square & octagonal)
- Pediments above front door (entry usually recessed and off-center)
- half-round window
- traditionally “usually” painted white
- Gable-fronted (and sometimes Hip roofs) with low pitch, and small chimney
- double-hung, 6-pane (per sash) windows
