Greek Revival Homes

Greek Revival:

Circa 1820 – 1860. The style is inspired by the architecture of ancient Greece. 

Common features in Greek Revivals:

• Columns, pilasters (usually round, but sometimes square & octagonal)
• Pediments above front door (entry usually recessed and off-center)
• half-round window
• traditionally “usually” painted white
• Gable-fronted (and sometimes Hip roofs) with low pitch, and small chimney
• double-hung, 6-pane (per sash) windows
