About Us: Who We Are
It all started in Early 2003.
You can read more about Our Story, or skip to “just the facts” down below if you’re pressed for time.
Silva Realty Group Inc (aka “SRG” pronounced /sərj/ – yup, just like SURGE) is a real estate brokerage in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
We are licensed in both Massachusetts & Rhode Island.
Meet the Team
Did you know? NOT all Real estate agents are Realtors®.
SRG is a Realtor® office. That means that all of our agents are held to a higher standard. As a Realtor® member, we’ve all agreed to abide by a strict code of ethics. You can read more about the REALTOR® Difference here.

Under the Brokerage of Silva Realty Group Inc, is Team Silva & BuyBankREO (our REO Division), both led by the Team Leader, Elizabeth Silva, Realtor® & Broker-Owner in the Greater New Bedford area. Liz was first licensed in 2003 and started her team of real estate agents: “Team Silva” in 2005.
She obtained her Broker’s license in 2007 and opened her own real estate brokerage becoming President of Silva Realty Group Inc in 2014.
Her profile & those of her New Bedford REALTORS® can be found below. We encourage you to look through each one and rest assured that whoever you choose as your listing agent or buyer’s agent, that individual is supported by the entire company, working in conjunction with that agent to assist you with your goal, whether it be buying or selling. While some agents out there are in competition with each other (they are all independent contractors, after all) SRG takes on a “team” mentality. And we often help one another with appointments, open houses, and any other necessary tasks even when the agent is not directly assigned to a property or client!
Look for Experience
Nowadays, it seems everyone out there holds a real estate license. I can only imagine how hard it must be for the general public to pick a real estate agent out of all of the licensed real estate agents that are out there right now. So, how do you choose? Do you just give up and use your newly licensed cousin-in-law who works full-time… well, somewhere. You’re not even quite sure where… because he’s always switching jobs, spends most of his free time napping, doesn’t actually own a cell-phone (or a reliable car of his own), and has never owned a house of his own? Err… maybe not such a good idea. The answer is, it depends. Everyone has to start somewhere, but just make sure that they will be dedicated to you, and have full support from their broker and company. Do some research on what they plan to do for you. It’s your hard-earned money paying their commission. Make sure you spend it wisely.
Why It Should Matter to You
You don’t want to just LIST your House for Sale. You want it SOLD. But wait, don’t all agents want to sell your home? We’d all like to think so… but make sure to choose someone who doesn’t have their ego as their first priority. Be careful about anyone who loves taking hundreds of listings, only to brag online about how many they have. The question you’ll want to be asking is, how long have those listings been on the market? Look them up online! What is the agent doing with those listings in terms of marketing? What do their photos look like? You get the picture… no pun intended.
The bottom line is… the agents you want to avoid, are the ones who plan to simply throw your home into the MLS system. Period. They are done. They have hundreds of listings, and if they get a phone call on 1 or 2 of them, and it sells. Bingo. Paycheck. But, it’s hard to figure out who those agents are. So the fact that you are reading this page right now, is proof that you’re a step ahead of the rest. It means you are doing research and trying to find the “good” real estate agents among the huge crowd. And for that, we applaud you!
What We Do
Our team of Realtors has long been considered the “Hi-Tech” brokers in the Southcoast area.
Our real estate consultants and staff are able to market your House for Sale all over the world wide web, as well as through traditional methods as well.
We deal with a wide range of real estate, including bank-owned foreclosures & REO.
Team Silva’s REO Division (BuyBankREO) specializes in Foreclosures and REO and works directly with the banks to market their bank-owned houses for sale. If you are looking for foreclosures, you’ve stumbled across the right website! If your not already under an agency contract or working exclusively with an agent; and want to work with a Realtor from Silva Realty Group or BuyBankREO (our REO Department), our contact information can be found all over our website. You may email us or contact us by phone.
We help Buyers score great deals!
Many investors are currently working with SRG right now, but buyers purchasing REO (Real Estate Owned) don’t necessarily have to be savvy real estate investors! Even First-time buyers can score a great deal! We’ve also helped guide many first-time home-buyers in purchasing foreclosed or short sale properties.
REO may look scary at first, but it’s not significantly different from any other property, and that shouldn’t stop a first time home buyer or any other buyer from being able to purchase a great home for a great price. Are they all Tear Downs? No! Although we’ve seen our share of distressed properties, Not all REO’s are total rehabs or in bad shape, so it’s a shame for a perfectly good home to not be picked up by a buyer just because they are afraid of the word “Foreclosure”. We can help walk you through it! It can be a lot of work for an agent. Lots of paperwork, lots of phone calls & double-checking… but we’re used to it all and our team is not afraid of a little hard work.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
We hear it all the time. Buyers or sellers wanting to ask a question, but think that it might be a foolish question. Please don’t be afraid to ask questions. That’s what your buyer’s agent or listing agent is there for. If they feel bothered by the fact that you’re asking “too many” questions, then they might not be the right agent for you.
A good real estate agent will want to make sure that you understand the home buying or selling process fully. They want to know that you feel comfortable throughout the transaction and confident that you are making the right decision. And, the right decision is the one that is right for YOU, not for the agent’s pockets. I can’t even count how many times I have shown a buyer dozens and dozens of homes, only for them to finally choose one that I know in my heart is WRONG for them, and explain to them why it’s possibly the wrong decision which essentially postpones my paycheck again indefinitely.
Yes, we all need to put food on the table, but our main is to help you make good decisions. That’s what we are here for! No question is a silly question… we’ve all been newbies at one time or another… so please don’t be afraid to ask.
*Please note, if you are represented by another real estate agent, we must respectfully refer you back to that agent. We don’t want to step on anyone else’s toes or cross any lines!
Listing your House for Sale? Our Agents are Selling Homes!
You probably already know that when it comes to marketing your home in today’s digital age, it takes someone who is actually familiar with the technology. No one knows it better than SRG.
Since 2003, we’ve been using the latest technology to not only market our client’s Houses for Sale all over the world wide web, but assist their buyers in researching the homes they are thinking of purchasing. Using hi-tech resources is nothing new for us, we’ve been doing this for over a decade already, so we know what works and what doesn’t.
Check out our Sold Stats below, the proof is in our past sales.
Looking for the Best Real Estate Pro? – Our Recently Sold Homes
It’s hard to keep count. Our Real Estate professionals have helped so many buyers and sellers, and have literally sold HUNDREDS of homes in the past few years. We hope to gather some statistics and update our website soon, but if you’d like to browse through our recently sold homes, feel free to take a peek. Bottom line is, our goal is to SELL homes, not just to list them.
REO Agent & DIL Member
Liz is also a proud member of DIL (Default Industry Leaders).
We take pride in our ethics and knowledge when it comes not only to Real Estate but especially when it comes to REO. Our experience is second to none, and we consider our members Family. This provides great value to our clients/customers since if there is ever an instance where we need help or come across something we aren’t familiar with, we are backed up by our family members in DIL!
Although Liz was licensed in 2003, BuyBankREO came together in 2005 to better serve our REO Corporate clients & Asset companies.
There have been many changes in the industry, and some of our agents have gone on to newer things, while others have stayed and are riding out the volatile market. Our Team strives to keep abreast of ever-changing technology and to keep up with the changes that our clients make as well. If technology changes and advances, we change with it. Because of that, our staff expands whenever needed. If you are a realtor looking for a change, feel free to contact us to see if we have any positions available on our Team!
We are always looking for bright, eager REALTORS® who have the dedication needed to thrive on our Real Estate Team, whether as a Buyer’s Agent, Listing Agent, Selling Agent, or an REO Agent.
*Update: To best serve our clients/customers, we are only interviewing FULL-TIME real estate licensees at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
